A good reminder of how bad the EU was on Russia's war against Ukraine
This was only 7 years ago -- and 3 years into Russia's invasion -- that Jean-Claude Juncker told the world to "stop Russia-bashing." He was the European Commission president at the time.
Ursula von der Leyen is a major improvement over the dolt that was Jean-Claude Juncker, but his election as European Commission president shows this was mainstream European Union thinking at the time. Imagine what he was saying privately about Russia. Juncker also outraged Ukrainians by helping then-President Petro Poroshenkoโs continual obstructions of establishing a High Anti-Corruption Court. It is now considered the most effective part of a still-weak and distrusted court system today riddled with such corrupt high-profile figures as Supreme Court Justice Vsevolod Kniaziev, charged with accepting a nearly $3 million bribe.
