This is Kyiv Post chief editor Brian Bonnerβs rundown of the June 5, 2015, edition, which can be found here in PDF format:
We are running late tonight, but the paper is now safely at the printer. Our cover story declares the Minsk peace agreements dead. Many have made this declaration earlier; others still think they provide a working framework for peace. But the evidence on the ground, including Russia's latest offensive, shows otherwise. Russia has continually gained Ukrainian territory since the February deal and continues to attack and advance. Almost no part of the Minsk agreement holds -- if it ever did.
We cover President Petro Poroshenko's State of the Nation address in which he flatly admits that people are unhappy with the government's slow reforms.
Reform Watch, by the way, is back in print.
We examine how Mikheil Saakashvili, the former Georgian president, will perform as the appointed governor of Odesa Oblast.
The five-page Business Focus is on real estate.
Our editorials "Find happiness" and "Guard your life, stuff" are a bit offbeat.
Lifestyle offers a summer guide to beaches, pools, drinking places...and more. Thanks from the Kyiv Post team!
