The 6th and latest episode of Brian Bonner's "Ukraine Calling" podcast on Hromadske Radio was released on Friday, April 5, 2024.
How a Pakistani came to Ukraine and became a millionaire. The story of Mohammad Zahoor
Ukraine is often regarded as a poor country struggling with corruption. Is it even possible to become a self-made millionaire there?
Mohammad Zahoor came to Ukraine as a 19-year-old teenager. In the 1990s, amid the chaos that followed the 1991 breakup of the Soviet Union, Zahoor managed to establish a thriving steel mill that he sold in 2008. Then, he lost most of this fortune because of bad business deals, unworthy partners, corruption, and the war.
