Poroshenko's falling popularity
The Kyiv Post was right about his unpopularity in 2017, but wrong about his reelection prospects: Volodymyr Zelensky defeated him in a landslide two years later.
This is Kyiv Post chief editor Brian Bonnerβs promotion of the June 23, 2017, edition, which can be found here in PDF format:
All the cool people are on their way to the Lviv Jazz Fest this weekend, but some of us are staying behind to put out the Legal Quarterly - Interesting Lawyers Part II. Still a respectable contingent of the Kyiv Post will be there.
Our 24-page edition that hits the streets tomorrow and goes online focuses on two themes -- the performance of Petro Poroshenko as president after 3 years in office and the second theme thanks to the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce, is six pages of coverage in the World in Ukraine section exploring all aspects of Ukraine's relationship with Canada. The two nations are celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations this year, and it's Canada's 150th birthday. There are lots of celebrations ahead of July 1, Canada Day.
Next week, our shift focuses on the United States of America for our traditional World in Ukraine sponsored by Delta Airlines. It promises to be a very good one.
We've got lots of other news, including a big summer guide of events. The top story is a roundup of the city's pools and beaches.
On behalf of the entire Kyiv Post team, thank you, dear readers, advertisers, and subscribers, for tuning in and keeping us independent after 22 years.
