I, as a Ukrainian who doesn’t believe in "good russians ", say that your arguments are not exhausting. I'm going to write my own article on the topic soon, please follow me :)
If I, as an American so safely( physically anyway) far away feel so angry and frustrated that this war continues and so many die. Our so called leader plays friend/foe games instead of doing his job and helping end the killing and land grab. I can only imagine what you feel. But I appreciate that you keep us informed through it all.
Apparently the citizens of Iran are more civilized than Russians. Can anyone imagine the people of Russia taking to the streets by the hundreds of thousands to demand an end to the dictatorship that suppresses their human rights ? Even the notorious Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 was carried out by a small group of radicals; not a mass popular movement. Russians put on a good show of bravado; but it is only a mask to cover their fear and cowardice. Sooner or later, the Russians will learn from their Ukrainian cousins how to stand on their own two feet.
I don't know more about russians than I read but want to think some are good people in a bad land. There were some protests early on but it's either squashed or not covered in the west.
I've lost sympathy for the soldiers, they take the check and sign up and I can't believe they are so uneducated they don't know they are entering someone else's country.
The Russian populous is depoliticized. They have been conditioned to leave the public realm to their rulers and solely exist within the private. This is reinforced by the dangers they face saying anything that the rulers would find displeasing. Most Russians are not evil, they're apathetic.
You may find apathy equally damning, but let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Over 2 million children under 5 die from preventable causes every year. Adequate nutrition, vaccinations, and treatment for common childhood diseases can save many of them, but where were you? How much have you donated? Have you petioned your government to aid these people?
Apathy is a social disease we all stuffer from, and it prevents many lives from being saved. If we find the Russian ugly, perhaps we should look in her mirror.
Slava Ukraine
Looking into Russian society and culture, past the glow of western russophiles, is downright depressing.
That, along with heavy Russian efforts to crush their subjects, I suspect contribute heavily to not peeling back the curtain.

During my four years in Moscow, ‘96 to 2000, it was possible to drive away from Moscow and find the 16th Century living on.
As far as I understand, it's not that different in 2025, apart from the fact that you can now use your mobile and post about it on the Internet….
The rest is pretty much the same.
Trump s gonna make America such Russia soon
Thank you. Keep writing and we will share.
Deal💪

We could even consider publishing it, if you were interested….
We always welcome respectful, intelligent debate.
Looking forward.
Additionally, Russian domestic propaganda differs from their version for export.

Unfortunately, Linkedin is becoming less and less useful over time. It's swamped with slop posts, drowning out useful ones.
