Had read, stunned, before the election that a large block of U.S. voters of Ukrainian descent were planning to vote for Putin’s puppet. I understood them to the extent that they felt seriously frustrated and under supported by the criminally timid, “as long as it takes”, Biden / Sullivan / Austin appeasement team. They were hoping trump would pursue “peace thru strength - But, there were undeniable, strong reasons to expect exactly what trump has delivered. Harris might not have been great, but she wouldn’t have been blatantly pro-Putin.
Ukraine is NOT alone !
Since 2016, there are millions of Americans who not only “don’t trust trump” (lower case by choice) but absolutely detest the man, his policies, his administration, his greed, blatant corruption and his alienation of allies while emulating Putin and employing Orban’s strategies. Those numbers are growing rapidly.
You have your take with the Biden Administration. I was frustrated to no end that he didn't allow them to use the weapons provided as they see fit. I also know that several republicans played their hand in that as well. They wouldn't support weaponry provided to Ukraine without the restraining provisions. That is a fact. And hey, look how the repubs are going along with frumpyboy not providing any support and lets be honest, the extortion that's being done right now. Look, I can read that you are or were a fox media watcher. I also read that you are intelligent enough to now realize that our economy and relationships with our once staunch allies if gone man. In it I acknowledged the dismal Biden support for Ukraine, [I hammered Biden and Sullivan repeatedly in published op/eds at KyivPost.com] but expressed my surprise and disappointment with the decision on Ukrainian descended voters part to support trump as a result. Somehow, I guess you missed that. Since you brought it up; I have never watched “fox media”, absolutely detest our insurrectionist-in-chief fascist WH occupant and would rather vote for a cinderblock than him. The sign I carried yesterday, again, in large block letters calls for impeachment for traitor Trump and vile Vance. Cheers.

I think last Summer / early Autumn there were some reports that Zelensky’s popularity was declining a little and I assume people thought Trump would save them. It’s understandable that Ukrainians look for hope of more help arriving soon. It was clear though that Trump would never end the war in 24 hours. I don’t think many people ever took that seriously, although on the other hand Ukrainians have less of a sense of what Trump really is than most other people in the western world.
Perhaps the hope came from selective hearing/listening, that Grump would end the war quickly, ignoring the fawning over Putin. And the frustration with Biden's excessive caution over weapon use, which also hindered better use of US sourced weapons donated from NATO countries. The cutoff of military intelligence and disabling of F16s was probably the best eye-opener to Trump's absolute immorality.
Ukrainian's see exactly what all of Europe see and know since the set-up by frump and vannyboy and friends at the white-house. All of European leaders also know that this administration is full of russian operative and yes without question this includes the fucking pos frumpy. They are not going to say it publicly until they are in the position -that they are working towards as you read this- when they get to that point that they detach themselves from america. You won't know it's coming until it happens. They are not stupid. This isn't a political motivated statement. I was a republican unit 2015 when they embraced the pos. So I'm not woke or a drama seeker. It's so obvious and it is right in your face. Corporate owned media are not informing you just how much Europeans see this fact because it's happening right in front of your eyes.

Yeah, as I write, I was actually surprised that such a high number of Ukrainians USED to trust Trump, until very very recently....
