A sobering summary that I wish I could argue against... but it's sadly all true.

Few comments on the details, most of the weapons of significance were not sold off. They were sold or destroyed under pressure from both the west and the east. Ukrainians allowed muppets like Yanukovich and Tymshenko and others to rule. Corruption in military and security was spurred and aided by Russian infiltration. Zelensky might have lost by not mobilizing and the Ukrainian people need to understand that protecting 17-25 year olds is not how you win wars. In the end the west took the nukes, even a shitty military with ballistic missiles doesn’t have to worry about invasion. The SBU went after everyone except the Russians infiltrating the country until 2014-15. The defense industries were Russian enablers before the war. I called the war in 2008 and almost 90% of Ukrainians laughed at me and Americans in state said Russia was a strategic ally with some areas of disagreement. Lots of blame to go around. Selling old AKs and RPGs was not the big problem though. Governments had to have smelled this coming and done something to aid the state. The invasion of 2014 began in 2006, it was obvious that Russia was openly operating inside Ukraine then. We America had to have seen the money being poured into Ukraine by Russia and after Georgia taken precautions.
