History professor David Marples helps us fact-check President Trump’s claims that 'the U.S won both world wars', 'doing more than any other country, by far.' Claims that have angered many. Here's why.
You know, it’s deeply ironic - as a political scientist and a journalist, you’re trained to avoid using words like ‘dumb’ and ‘stupid’. Also, my grandmother always told me not to use such words about other people (in public).
And I have managed pretty well so far: W was a bit of a challenge, but he was (also) often inadvertently funny, so you could disguise those nasty qualifiers with humourous descriptions and irony.
But with the Donald in the White House, and his team of loud nonentities, it is getting tremendously(!) hard to avoid those words…
They also think the George C. Scott, in his Oscar-winning role as "Patton," won it, defeating the evil British. And had those pansies in Washington cut him loose, Georgie would have defeated the Bolsheviks, too. And that soldier whose face he slapped.
Wonder if trump has even the faintest idea of when WWII took place or the slightest bit of historical perspective. No one ever presses him on anything approaching details when he rambles on about whatever topic.
You make a very important point, David - “No one ever presses him on anything approaching details when he rambles on about whatever topic.” I am working on a piece (a rant, probably, sorry) about this.
You have to realize his IQ is in the 70s

Nobody taught me to not say stupid.
That high??? LOL
That is very low. If it went much lower he would be nonverbal. 100 is average and most people fall in the 90-110 range.
A lot of Americans DO think that way.

Actually, there were two of them.

It MUST change. WE must change. Stand up.
…no doubt
