12 months: 6 analyzing the hesitant Biden, 3 worrying about the Trump threat, 3 tearing out our hair over the Donny-Elon-Vlad show. But - all year we also covered the incredible Ukrainian resilience.
Thanks very much for your year of work. And I really like the point that the most Orwellian development is the behaviour of the west, not the east. Without doubt Russia started it, but America continuing it is the reality that we just don't know how to digest. But we need to get our heads around it, quickly. (Obligatory plug for my blog covering life on the ground in Ukraine, annabowles.substack.com)
It's a standard joke that the British get 1) cross, 2) quite cross, 3) very cross, 4) extremely cross. We need to make the jump to full-on angry; not in the sense of lashing out, but having the willingness to act, not just fume.
Your comment certainly also applies to any American who on any level would prefer not to live in a Fascist autocratic dictatorship, or would prefer not to see Vlad Putinβs smiling face over a headline talking about a victory for Mother Russia.
I like to think of myself as your third grumpy old man for Ukraine, although I also like to think I would just barely qualify as a young energetic 72year oldβ¦π.
Another installment to United24
Another posting encouraging pursuit of impeachment for our Russian agents in high office, which, BTW is not nearly as hopeless a notion as a quick glance at (R) vs (D) numbers might suggest. If curious or interested, check out
Truly puzzling situation, particularly the American part now (as you say). What is going on? The Occam's razor hypothesis seems increasingly compelling if still unspeakable. How else to explain an otherwise inexplicable about face? The relentless assault on allies and close friends like Canada (if one were to imagine the ideal neighbor with which to share a 5,500 mile border, Canada would rise to the very top) and the perverse embrace of transparent thugs, outright criminals, and long-term geo-political rivals like Putin, simply make no sense. Punto.
I understand there is a bill to impeach him that is almost ready. But with so many traitors in congress itβll never happen. Ukraine is suffering from American stupidity.

Thank you, and yes I agree - we need to wake up, grow up, pay up.
