Excellent speech by the Foreign Minister. What I do find unnerving is that this comment "By normalizing relations with Moscow, you would be entrusting your security and economic stability to an autocrat and a war criminal in an international environment much more unstable than it was a decade ago." could apply for more than just Putin.

Next time let’s elect a president with this kind of intelligence and integrity.

I’m stunned that anyone with an ounce of common sense would erase the past 3 years… the lives lost. Neighbourhoods bombed. Threats of nukes… Hobbling of the press to the tune of 15 years in prison if you speak against the war… the kidnapped children by the thousands … the disinformation…. The poisoning of people in Europe and the UK… and on and on. It beggars belief.

Well done, this man, for a little clarity in a sea of obfuscating treasure hunters.

Siding with Russia isn’t just wrong, it is a mistake. To trust Putin, to ally with a state that respects no one is utter idiocy.

Everyone wants the war to be over, well maybe with the exception of felon 47 and pukin because EVIL, and are sadly pushing Ukraine to “appease” pukin. So, if anyone has the dumbass urge to appease the evil, repeat “you cannot appease aggression - because violence reproduces by indifference” (credit to Radoslaw Sikorski, from UN speech 2/25/25). History has shown us repeatedly that appeasement doesn’t work… more than obvious that it would NEVER EVER work with the likes of such soulless psychopaths with which the world is currently dealing. So repeat as needed: Appeasement doesn’t work, EVER. And be as strong as possible… because bullies ONLY respond to strength.

Well spoken! But … Why not take a similar stand towards the Israeli aggression? Poland and Germany can speak courageously but they still are guided by thinking in terms of race. They support Israel just because they’re Jewish (and because they earn by selling them weapons). Bad reason - cause it is just as genocidal and aggressive as Russia and USA

Fleur, you are mistaken to describe Israel’s actions as “genocidal”. Genocide requires INTENT. Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant were charged by the ICC with “war crimes”, a crucial distinction (though of course, cold comfort to the 45,000 Gazans who are just as dead). There was no intent, just a reckless disregard for likely civilian casualties. I used to think this was indeed a war crime. Now I’m not so sure. What was Israel expected to do? It was attacked, hundreds of its people were coldly murdered. In these circumstances it was OBLIGED to go after the perpetrators. If they cynically shelter among their own (innocent) civilians, must Israel cease and desist? Russia in Ukraine is not genocide either (criminal and loathsome as it is).
